On today’s show we send one of our reporters to experience a virtual reality ghost story, and if someone signs off their text message with an emoji can you tell if they are excited, angry or confused? We’ve got the real story behind the emoji icons
But first we’re on the design trail in south London.
- Brixton Design Trail: Shroreditch, Clerkenwell and Bankside have long been seen as London’s design districts, now however Brixton will officially be given the same status. Our reporters Aiana Iacob and Demi Milliard went along to the launch party of the Brixton Design Trail last night. It was a chance for artists, photographers, makers and other creatives from the local community to get together to work out how best to showcase Brixton at the London Design Festival in September.
- Virtual Reality: With virtual reality taking the world by storm, have you ever tried dipping your toe in the VR water? It’s the game design students of today who will be at the forefront of that development. Our reporter Jordyn went along to meet South Bank University’s game design and development student George Voyke to get the lowdown on different headsets. And of course we had to get her trying out a virtual reality experience. Warning – there are some horror scenes involved.
- Emojis: Now are you someone who signs off your messages with a happy, or a sad face? If you’ve been using this emoji ,SHOW PROP be aware it might not mean the same thing to your friends. Our reporter Demi Millard took to South Bank campus to find out how different students interpret the same emoji.
- Viola: And lastly we want to say a big thank you to our site editor Viola Ajdini who hiding behind us and invite on set to answer a few questions.
