International researchers show the worlds air quality is reaching crisis point and must be dealt with urgently. According to scientists, not enough is being done to stop one of the biggest killers of people. The UK has repeatedly suggested that it will work on a new clean air act, but has been criticised for delaying many important measures to traffic pollution.

In the UK the issue is responsible for more deaths than most other European countries. The study done by Lancet says there was a higher death toll in Britain than expected.
