Snow falls over LSBU in first flurry of winter

London saw a light sprinkling of snow this morning, setting alight a social media frenzy and starting to bring in the holiday spirit, Theo Giles reports

London saw a light sprinkling of snow this morning, setting alight a social media frenzy and starting to bring in the holiday spirit, Theo Giles reports

Snow fell over the capital today between eleven and twelve o’clock this morning, contradicting weather forecasts for the day. However, us here in Southwark got a fraction of what the rest of the UK experienced today. Currently a blanket of white powder is covering areas across Scotland and the North East triggering a series of school closures.

Although we only had a flurry here at LSBU that hasn’t quashed students excitement, a Psycology student, Andrea, said: “It feels like its Christmas already, just makes you want to be curled up under a blanket with a hot chocolate”. Whilst another student, Chris, exclaimed: “I can’t believe its actually snowing, lets hope it continues over the Christmas period!”
