Popular fast food chain KFC has ran into difficulties regarding it’s chicken stock, leading to closures across the UK, Liam Terry reports.

Last week for KFC has seen the most disruptions for its stores than ever before, resulting in limited and temporary menus in some stores whilst others are being closed for an undisclosed amount of time. The problem has been said to come from supply distribution, as KFC has partnered with a new delivery contract with DHL.

Most closures have affected London greatly, whilst also seeing stores close around the south east, Midlands, East Anglia, the North East and Wales. A list of available stores still open is here.

KFC Tweeted “The Colonel is working on it” in a picture statement which revealed the company having “Teething problems” with adapting to the new contract. The demand to supply its 900 UK stores has depleted the majority of it’s stock, and theres no clear date of when chicken supply will be back to normal and if stores will be re opening.

Many members of the public have been expressing confusion and even outrage at the lack of chicken available, with some detailing what their unfortunate lunch time experience was like walking into the restaurant, even going as far to joke: “it was like a scene from 28 Days Later”
