Our Coronavirus stories

JLDN’s students have documented their experiences of the Coronavirus pandemic as the UK becomes the latest country to enforce strict quarantine measures.

The video, edited by Unaisa Baker of London South Bank University, includes messages from other JLDN students from around the globe.

With the message #OneWorldOneNation, the video urges people to stay united.

What is the latest?

Boris Johnson last night, following an emergency COBRA meeting, placed stricter curbs on life in the UK, with citizens now permitted to leave the house only for exercise once a day or to buy essential goods.

Police have the power to administer fines and disperse gatherings, should anyone be found breaching the new rules.

The Prime Minster had delivered daily Coronavirus updates to the nation on BBC1 at 5pm, but delayed yesterday’s broadcast until 8:30pm to reveal the latest regulations.

Libraries, non-essential shops, playgrounds, outdoor gyms and places of worship have been ordered to close, whilst restaurants, pubs and cafes must switch to a takeaway and delivery service. All schools closed until further notice on Friday.

The UK death toll yesterday reached 335.
