Tommy Fury hands Jake Paul his first defeat
On Sunday 26th February 2023 the long-awaited boxing match between British professional Boxer Tommy Fury and American social media star Jake Paul took place in Saudi Arabia.
The pair withstood eight rounds before the fight was handed to the judges and ultimately the match ended with Tommy Fury remaining undefeated. Giving Jake Paul the first defeat of his career.
Both men are considered amateurs with them both beginning their careers in 2018. Remaining undefeated until this fight; with six wins for Jake Paul and Eight for Tommy Fury.
Jake Paul’s boxing career began on the 25th August 2018 with his first win against British Youtube rival known as Deji; full name Oladeji Daniel Olatunji. Deji’s brother is a famous British Youtuber known as KSI. His second win took place in 2018 with another Youtube rival ‘AnEsonGib’ known to the public as Gib, Full name Ali Loui Al-Fakri. This was Pauls first Professional fight. Pauls third opponent was Ben Askren. Askren being a MMA fighter and ONE Welterweight champion. This fight happened in Los Angeles in 2021. Then again in 2021 Paul defeated Tyron Woodly twice. The rematch took place due to Tommy Fury pulling out of the fight last minuet due to medical issues. His last fight before facing Fury was in September 2022 where he faced former UFC champion Anderson Silva.
Winner 23-year-old Tommy Fury is brother to British heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury has not lost a single one of his thirty-three fights. Tommy Fury came into the British spotlight during his time on love island in 2019. This is where his relationship with his Girlfriend Molly Mae began. Their relationship made Tommy Fury beloved in the UK and built Molly Mae’s social media brand. She is now the creative director of fast fashion brand pretty little thing. The power couple welcomed their first child Bambi in January 2023.
In the aftermath of the fight British Youtube Star KSI, full name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji ,tweeted:
“Honestly I would destroy both Jake Paul and Tommy Fury”.
It is alleged that KSI wants to arrange a boxing match against Jake Paul in the near future.
